2026 Voice & AT Packages:

Nurtured Singer, Embodied Voice, & Achiever Memberships

‍ ‍Official Stuff & Things

‍ ‍

At Your Instrumental Body, we empower Wholehearted Singers—especially midlife women —to reconnect with their voices from the inside out. Whether you're singing on stage, speaking in the boardroom, or simply wanting to feel more confident in your expression, we guide you to discover ease, freedom, and authenticity in your voice.

Our approach blends functional voice work with Alexander Technique and nervous system-aware practices to help you release old tension patterns, embrace your whole self, and express your unique vocal imprint with confidence and joy.

Lessons are offered online and in person, creating a playful, supportive space for exploration, healing, and lasting growth—so your voice feels like home, wherever you use it.

THE BIGGIES‍ ‍

  • You're enrolling in a tuition membership, not paying per lesson. Your monthly payment reserves your weekly time slot for the full year — it isn't a fee for that single lesson. This is the single most important thing to understand about how the studio works, so if anything below feels confusing, start here.

  • At Your Instrumental Body, time is not the product—transformation is. Your membership isn't just about showing up for 45 minutes a week. It's about consistent access to a process that retrains your nervous system's relationship to singing, movement, and artistic expression. Time is simply the structure we use to deliver the deeper value: a shift in how you experience your body, your voice, and your potential.

  • Please make all schedule changes via the online studio calendar at mymusicstaff.com. This is the key to controlling your own lesson destiny, so please make sure you are able to log in.

  • All cancellations/schedule changes must be made AT LEAST 48 hours ahead of time or the lesson is unexcused and not subject to reschedules.

  • All lessons are prepaid by check or credit card using autopay at mymusicstaff.com.

  • Do not come to your lesson in person if you are sick and there is any chance you are contagious. If you are sick and don't want to miss your lesson, we can do a lesson via the interwebs.

Lesson Scheduling & Membership Overview:

  • Your tuition covers 35 lessons over a 12-month period.

  • The studio is open 40 weeks per year, giving you 5 Bonus Weeks — think of them as your Buffer Weeks, a built-in safety net — as a thank-you for your ongoing commitment.

  • Your Buffer Weeks give your nervous system room to breathe — if life happens and you or the teacher needs to miss a week, there's no need to make it up.

  • The studio may also use 1–2 of these Buffer Weeks for teacher illness or emergencies — the same safety net works both directions.

Illustration includes rows of stars representing weeks and a reminder about no make-up classes due to bonus weeks. Also features a logo with the text 'Your Instrumental Body' and a question mark asking which weeks are included in studio membership.

Weekly Lessons:

  • Lessons are held once per week in 45-minute time slots. Consistency matters here — your nervous system learns through repetition, and a steady weekly rhythm is part of what makes the work stick.

  • During the school year, students are assigned a recurring weekly time slot.

  • Schedules are finalized in August (or upon registration). Please plan carefully—it is difficult to accommodate mid-year changes.

Summer Scheduling (June/July):

  • Summer lessons are included in your 12-month membership.

  • The studio will be closed for several weeks during summer. Open times will be announced in April, posted in MyMusicStaff, and open for registration in May.

  • It’s up to students/parents to select lesson times during available summer weeks - you can book one or multiple lessons per week based on the number of allotted lesson weeks.

  • If you’re traveling and can’t attend, those missed lessons simply count toward your 5 buffer weeks—no worries!

Your Instrumental Body will be closed for 12 weeks annually ‍ ‍

Specific dates will be emailed a minimum of 30 days in advance.  Here is a general guide to weeks off for 2026-2027:

‍ July - Fourth of July Holiday Closure (June 29-July 3, 2026)

August - Weekly Lesson times start 8/10/26

October - Fall Break (Oct. 15-21, 2026)

November - Thanksgiving Break (Nov. 23 - 27, 2026)

December/January - Winter Break  (Dec. 14, 2026 - Jan. 3, 2027)

March - Spring Break (Mar. , 2027)

June/July/August - Summer Flex Scheduling - Open weeks TBA in April and registration will open in May.

ABSENCES & RESCHEDULING (SWAPs)

Your lesson time is reserved just for you.
Please avoid cancellations unless absolutely necessary—your consistency benefits your progress!

Missed Lessons:

  • If you don’t attend your lesson at the scheduled time, it is considered forfeited. The teacher will wait in the online room for 10 minutes; after that, the lesson is marked as missed.

  • The studio does not offer makeup lessons for student absences.

  • You may reschedule a lesson using the SWAP program outlined below if you cancel at least 48 hours in advance using the online scheduler.

SWAP Program:

  • Clients can opt into the SWAP program by selecting this option on the registration form.

  • With your permission, the studio will share your name, lesson time, and contact info with others in the SWAP list.

  • It is your responsibility to coordinate with another client to switch lesson times.

  • Once agreed upon, notify the teacher and update your lesson on the calendar accordingly.

  • Do not contact the studio to coordinate swaps—this is a client-managed system.

Asynchronous Option:

  • Can’t find a swap but don’t want to miss out? Send a short question, curiosity, or video with a particular challenge (via Marco Polo, WhatsApp, or file upload) prior to your scheduled lesson time.

  • The teacher will review and send feedback within 24–48 hours - typically using your lesson time to respond.

  • This option is available to all studio members, regardless of membership level.

Weather Policy:

  • In case of inclement weather, lessons will be taught online at your regular time. Updates will be posted via email.

Buffer Weeks & Studio Closures:

  • Your 5 Buffer Weeks are built into the calendar so that when life happens — for you or for the studio — there's already room to adjust without worry. They're a safety net, not banked or guaranteed extra lessons.

Membership Holds:

  • If you plan to take time off but want to retain your lesson slot, payment is still required. Your membership reserves your access and your place in the studio's rhythm — not individual lessons — so a pause in attendance doesn't mean a pause in your spot.

Thank you for respecting these policies—they help the studio run smoothly and support everyone’s learning journey!

‍ ‍

ILLNESS IN THE STUDIO

If you or a family member have a contagious illness of any kind, please do not come in person to the studio. The teacher will use the same precautions. Instead, use one of these options:

  • If you are sick but feeling well enough to sing, text or email me to move online at your usual time. You could also reach out through the SWAP list if there is time to reschedule.

  • If you are sick but not feeling well enough to sing, we can make use of this time online with a ‘No- Singing” lesson and work on all sorts of music-related things, body awareness and anatomy exploration - or take the day off and rest!!

  • Cancel your lesson in the MyMusicStaff student portal and REST!!! Please email/text for last-minute emergencies.

  • Students who are sick and come to the studio will be sent home promptly and forfeit their lesson for the week.

  • It is critical that you not come when you’re sick so that germs do not spread to the whole studio! If you are sent home more than once, the studio has the right to discontinue your access to the studio (without refunds!). Please, when in doubt, let’s move Online!

TERMINATING LESSONS

When you register for lessons, you are making a 12-month commitment to your vocal and artistic growth. However, we understand that circumstances can change. If you need to discontinue lessons early, a two-month written notice is required. Real growth in the voice and body takes time to settle and integrate — abrupt endings don't serve that process well, for you or for the student waiting to take your spot.

This notice period allows time to:

  • Wrap up projects and set future musical goals

  • Allow the studio time to fill your lesson slot

By agreeing to this policy, you commit to paying tuition for the two final months following your notice—whether or not you attend those lessons. There are no refunds or credits for missed or canceled lessons.

If you’ve prepaid tuition, no refunds will be issued. If you're on a monthly installment plan and choose to terminate early, you may owe a balance for the remainder of the notice period. The studio will inform you of any outstanding payments due.

Studio Philosophies & Student Responsibilities

 ‍

‍ ‍The Studio promises to:

  • Treat everyone with care and respect. All are welcome here.

  • Provide a safe space for exploration and discovery.

  • Create an environment where risk-taking is encouraged. This is a NO JUDGEMENT ZONE.

  • Use a combination of vocal pedagogy from a variety of schools of thought, including Bel Canto, Functional Voice Training, Alexander Technique, and Embodied Anatomy.

  • Nurture the whole instrument - voice, body, mind and nervous system. YES! YOU CAN SING!

  • Provide clear instruction for how YOU can choose to use your instrument to support your vocal and physical needs.

  • Focus on the body's design and how we can work with the design to support our artistic goals.

  • Allow YOU to let your voice SHINE by singing music you enjoy!

  • Be a place where you can be YOU!

‍ ‍Singers agree to:

  • Play! Explore! Create! Grow! The only way to gain new skills is to go OUTSIDE our Comfort Zone.

  • Come to lessons with your lesson materials - Binder with music & pencil, repertoire books, and a water bottle.

  • Attend sessions on time and communicate with the studio if there is something preventing you from being punctual.

  • Take care of yourself — your nervous system does its best learning when it feels safe, so prioritize rest, hydration, and breaks when you need them.

  • Take Risks! Artists are unique and have something to communicate to the world in their own way.

  • Focus on the growth process, not the results. Trying to rush the process causes tension and frustration - which often gets in the way of learning and growth. You have plenty of time - no matter how many years you've traveled around the sun.

  • Celebrate the challenges - knowing that those are the moments you are growing and transforming!

  • Be good citizens of the world - treating other singers, teachers, artists, and human beings with grace and kindness. We are a community and when we support each other that generosity ripples out to the world.

Communication With Studio

Please use text only for last-minute cancellations/emergencies between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM. For more detailed questions, kindly send me an email and I will do my best to get back to you within 24-48 hrs. Some questions can be handled during lesson time. Please come into the studio at the beginning or end of your lesson, or email / text me and we’ll arrange a phone call time.

Online Lessons

Currently, the studio uses Rockoutloud.live and Zoom for Online Lessons. This is a great substitute at any time for coming in person! Consider this solution for avoiding a lesson cancellation when contagious illness might keep you from coming in person, or when a scheduling conflict might not allow for travel time, or if you are out of town for work, auditions, etc.

Tech Issues

Some days we may have tech issues with an online platform for any number of reasons. We’ll establish a backup lesson platform together (Facebook Messenger, Google Hangouts, Facetime) and if that fails, a phone lesson or an asynchronous lesson will be substituted.

As a new student in Amy Mushall’s Voice studio, I was apprehensive about taking small group lessons. However, after joining the first class on Dynamic Mobility, I was very comfortable interacting and learning in this format. I attended the Music Theory group and was pleased with how much I learned. I now value the small group lessons and am eager to apply my new understanding of each topic to my personal practice and my private lessons with Amy.
