So instead of correcting the sound directly, we look at the whole instrument — the one you're standing inside of.
When you get clear about your thinking and how it’s creating protective tension, it has room to soften and the voice usually finds its own way forward. That's the work: not fixing, but discovering what was there the whole time and freeing it up.

How We Work Together
This is AT-infused singing lessons — voice teaching with Alexander Technique, a mind-body approach to movement and coordination, woven into every lesson rather than taught as a separate class. A few things stay true across every lesson, whether you're an adult or a teenager, brand new or years into this:
Patterns before performance.
We notice what your body is already doing before we ask it to do something new.
Coordination before correction.
Instead of isolating "fix the throat" or "fix the posture," we look at how the whole system is organizing itself — because a voice that's bracing somewhere else in the body is still a voice that's bracing.
Safety before strength.
Real range and real power only show up once the nervous system believes it's safe to let go of what it's been holding.
Rest through awareness.
Ease isn't something we force. It's something that becomes available once you notice what you've been doing without realizing it.

Private Voice Lessons
Private singing lessons at Your Instrumental Body feature boutique-style service and a personalized commitment that delivers review-worthy results.
In addition to receiving high-quality, Alexander Technique-inspired vocal instruction in-person and online, students receive opportunities to participate in recitals, Quarterly Member Classes, special workshop opportunities, and access to an exclusive Facebook Group for enrolled students only.
Group Voice Classes
Currently, the studio is not offering ongoing voice classes.
However, the studio opens up access to group classes throughout the year for those who would like to dip into the studio and discover new things about singing, the body, and the choices that can make singing easier and more effective.
These classes are a part of the 12-month tuition memberships and offer a deep dive into vocal technique, body mapping, performance techniques, and Alexander Technique for Singers.
